London, UK — December 10, 2018 — He’s built his career grilling Hollywood names on Saturday night TV. Now Jonathan Ross is bringing his prime-time interview style to a more intimate setting, with the launch of his new film podcast.

The veteran broadcaster has brought together icons from the big screen, including Oscar-winner Tilda Swinton, legendary director Spike Lee, Forrest Gump and Back To The Future director Robert Zemeckis and Samuel L Jackson to take part in his first podcast, I Like Films with Jonathan Ross.

The series, which is hosted and distributed by audioBoom, one of the world’s leading podcast platforms, gives listeners the chance to hear film-makers and stars reveal the true stories behind some of their biggest hits, as well as personal stories about their lives off-screen.

Jonathan Ross said: “I’ve been lucky enough to spend my career interviewing some of the biggest names on the planet, for my TV shows. But what I wanted to do with the podcast was something much more intimate and personal.

“What I love about the series is that it is completely stripped back. There are no cameras, no audience, no fanfare. It’s just me, my guest and a microphone. And if they’re lucky, a cup of tea.

“The conversation is far more open and free-flowing, which I love. In the first few episodes we cover everything from gun control with Spike Lee right through to gender fluidity with Tilda Swinton.”

Jonathan Ross, a mainstay of British television and radio, is one the UK’s most successful broadcasters, boasting a career spanning over 30 years and best known for presenting prime time chat shows on both the BBC and ITV.

As well as his TV career, the 58-year-old has also harboured a life-long love of cinema. Throughout his career, he has hosted the BAFTA film awards, presented the BBC’s long-running Film series, as well as fronting numerous documentaries on film. He is also an avid collector of movie memorabilia and was appointed to the Governing Board of the British Film Institute in 2014.

I Like Films sees Ross bring his love of film to life, through one-to-one conversations recorded with some of the industry’s most influential actors and directors.

Episode one sees Ross in conversation with filmmaker Spike Lee, covering everything from the Trump presidency, through to how to spend the perfect Sunday.

It’s followed in episode two, where Jonathan Ross talks to Michael Clayton and Doctor Strange star, Tilda Swinton about their mutual love for David Bowie, androgyny, dislike of theatre and smoking pipes.

I Like Films with Jonathan Ross is supported by Radio Wolfgang and audioBoom and available to download on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and Google podcasts
