New York, NY — September 24, 2018 — Audioboom announces the latest edition to its Audioboom Originals Network, Dead Man Talking.

A true crime podcast produced by Peter Sale and hosted by British journalist Alex Hannaford — Dead Man Talking investigates the confessions of notorious serial killer, Angel Resendiz (AKA The Railroad Killer). Several of those confessions, made by Resendiz while on death row, were recorded by Hannaford. The authorities said Resendiz was lying in an attempt to delay his own death. But, haunted by the crackly interview tape, Hannaford began his investigation.

“I interviewed Angel Resendiz back in 2003, and wrote about it for a small magazine in London. I didn’t think much about Resendiz again until his execution a few years later,” said Hannaford. “By then I thought I’d lost the interview tape — but it concerned me that one of the confessions he made was to a murder for which two people were serving life sentences. And all those years later they were still in prison. In 2015, on a move back to the States, I found the interview tape and knew I had to revisit those confessions and investigate.”

Hannaford began his career in journalism at South China Morning Post in Hong Kong and the Lymington Times in England. He’s written about the death penalty, harsh sentencing, religion, culture and human rights issues for the Sunday Times, The Guardian, GQ, The Atlantic, and the Texas Observer. A dual British-U.S. citizen, Alex divides his time between Texas and London.

Sale is a sound designer and producer who has worked with The Guardian, The New York Times, Audible, the British Film Institute, Channel 4, BBC Radio 4 and 5Live.

“We’re delighted that Alex and Peter are joining the Audioboom Originals Network and excited that they are bringing their in-depth and incisive style of storytelling to the podcast space,” said Ruth Fitzsimons, SVP International Operations & Content Partnerships. “Audioboom is already lining up live reads and sponsorships with advertisers eager to sponsor what we believe will be one of the most compelling podcasts in the true crime genre.”

Season One of Dead Man Talking launches Tuesday, October 2, 2018.
